Winner of the UNIR Award for Best International Children's Theatre Show, awarded in Madrid in 2015, "The Little Prince" is a
musical for the whole family that represents the unconscious childhood within every adult through feelings of love, hope, and innocence. It is also one of the most translated works in the world (existing in more than 220 languages), is part of the National School Reading Plan, and celebrates the 80th anniversary of its release.
A plane makes an emergency landing in the middle of the Sahara Desert due to a malfunction, and a beautiful child with golden hair appears with a very special request: "
Draw me a sheep!". It is a little prince, who recounts his journey from planet to planet and reveals some
reflections and thoughts on the values of life.
This marvelous creative sequence evokes great fairy tales and is a
tender story that presents a heartfelt exposition on sadness and loneliness, imbued with an anxious and poetic philosophy that reveals some
reflections on what the values of life truly are. Throughout the story, various characters such as
the Aviator, the Fox, the Snake, the King, the Vain Man, the Businessman, the Drunkard, the Geographer, the Lamplighter, and the famous Rose, among others, will come together for an unparalleled musical theatre piece. "The Little Prince" is one of the most beautiful fables for all ages and
intended for all children: those who still are, those who once were, and those who will never cease to be. "One sees clearly only with the heart, for what is essential is invisible to the eyes." A show not to be missed!
NOTE: Antoine de Saint-Exupéry first published "The Little Prince" in 1943, basing this work on his aviation experiences in the Sahara Desert, Africa, while working for the French airmail service. A descendant of the impoverished French aristocracy, he died in 1944 in an Allied reconnaissance plane in southern France, shot down by a German fighter, a year after his work was published and without having witnessed its success.
