As part of the exhibition Auto dos Anfitriões: Works from the Leal Rios Foundation Collection in the Serralves Collection, we invited collector Miguel Leal Rios (who, with his brother Manuel Leal Rios, has been building the collection since 2003) for a conversation with the curatorial and essayist duo Nicola Oxley and Nicolas Oliveira, who are deeply knowledgeable about the collection.

The book accompanying the exhibition will also be presented, including contributions from these two essayists who address some of the problems triggered by private collecting and, specifically, by a set of works whose gathering is anchored in very specific principles, perspectives, and interests (present over more than two decades, which contributes to the relevance and coherence of this working group).

The conversation and the presentation of the catalog will be moderated by Ricardo Nicolau, curator of the exhibition.

The conversation will take place in English, but the discussion that follows can be bilingual.
