May 10th | 10:00 – 20:00 | Serralves Foundation

Weathering is a geological concept, coined in Cabral's agronomic work, that defines the Earth's surface as the result of intertwined and continuously transforming historical-political and environmental processes. In the exhibition Weatherings, the concept is reappropriated as an instrument to think about the archives and knowledge that are lost or worn down, the possibilities of activating practices, voices and silences, and how anti-colonial liberation movements are inherent to the defense of the land.

To reflect on these processes and poetics of resistance and their usefulness in the present, the Serralves Foundation organizes this meeting, which brings together researchers, artists, filmmakers, and musicians who accompany Filipa César in her research, productions, and collaborations.

In this context, the book *Meteorizações*, edited by Amarante Abramovici and published by the Serralves Museum in partnership with the Catholic University of Portugal and Archive Books, will be launched. This book complements the exhibition with a vast collection of reflections, documents, academic studies, correspondence, records of conversations, and testimonies from participants and allies in the process, notably the text that gives the volume its title. Following the chronology of the process and the various films, performances, exhibitions, and publications, including paths that did not materialize, the book unfolds like a rhizome, or rather, a mangrove swamp, where sky and earth, branch and root merge.
