Paris, 1835. Fryderyk Chopin is 25 years old and a favourite of the Parisian salons, the aristocracy and the King of France. No significant event can take place without him. He is usually full of energy, disguising his illness with a joke. His life is drawing to a close, but Fryderyk shows no sign of slowing down. He composes masterpieces and gives piano lessons. His friends admire him and women desire him as a lover. The story explores the intense relationship between musical creation and the finite nature of human life. Chopin was one of the greatest pianists and composers of all time.
