With the first of a series of concerts supported by the prestigious Ernst von Siemens Foundation, ars ad hoc concludes another of its mini-seasons at Serralves, performing a program that balances the exploration of new scores with the revisiting of previously explored works. Starting from the distinctive performative environment of Francesco Filidei (Pisa, 1973), ars ad hoc fills different spaces of the Serralves Auditorium stage, tracing a path through the concise expressiveness of centenarian György Kurtág (Lugoj, 1926), the instrumental virtuosity of Dieter Ammann (Aarau, 1962), the timbral poetics of Inés Badalo (Olivença, 1989), and the filigree work of Arturo Fuentes (Mexico City, 1975), before the world premiere of the first part of residual objects #1, a piece for Pierrot quintet commissioned by Arte no Tempo from Mariana Vieira (Sintra, 1997).
