One concert, two choirs. In the first part, Lisboa Cantat presents Giovanni Battista Pergolesi with his sublime Stabat Mater Dolorosa. In the second part, the Outros Cantos Choir recalls Tenebrae Factae Sunt by the Portuguese Renaissance composer Francisco Martins or even a Crux Fidelis composed by our King D. João IV. But there is much more music, even to our contemporary era, until the two choirs finally join in the Stabat Mater by the Liechtenstein Romantic composer Josef Gabriel Rheinberger, a lesser-known but certainly surprising work.
