FATHER & SON | ONE NIGHT, TWO GENERATIONS
On 2 October, the stage of B.LEZA Club will host a very special meeting between two generations of Cape Verdean music:
BOY G MENDES & MIKA MENDES
Boy G Mendes, singer, songwriter and guitarist, is one of the leading figures in Cape Verdean music. With a career shaped by morna, coladeira, and African, Brazilian and Caribbean influences, he has helped bring the music of Cape Verde far beyond its borders. Songs such as “Grito di Bô Fidje”, “Lagoa” and “Noite de Morabeza” are part of his musical legacy.
Alongside him, his son Mika Mendes represents a new generation that has won over audiences with zouk, kizomba and cabo-zouk. Music has always been present in his life from an early age, with Boy G Mendes serving as one of his greatest inspirations. His best-known songs include “Linda Bo É”, “Dam Bo Amor”, “Criola” and “Dimension”.
FATHER & SON is a celebration of talent, roots, history and continuity.
