New: Opening of a New Exhibition!
When you take part in the Summer Programme, you will also gain access to the newly inaugurated exhibition “A Natural Heritage with History – King Carlos I”.
At the heart of the most distinguished area of Tapada de Mafra, Celebredo, stands the iconic Hunting Pavilion of King Carlos I. Built in 1893 on the foundations of a former manor house dating from the late 18th century (attributed to Queen Maria I), this emblematic building now opens its doors to host this exciting new exhibition.
How to visit the exhibition:
You may visit the exhibition during your walking route through the Tapada. Simply ensure that you plan your walk so that you arrive at the Hunting Pavilion during opening hours.
Opening Hours:
• Weekdays: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (closed from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm)
• Weekends: 11:30 am to 1:00 pm and 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm
More than an exhibition of objects, this display is an invitation to step into King Carlos I's “Refuge of Silence”, revealing a heritage that survived the transition between political regimes and which today stands as a meeting point between History, Art and Nature.
